Onyx
Telemachus Waiting ©2007 Onyx To this craggy coast city Eternal promises lies Like father said, he will come back Either he dies or he lives Meaning if he dies, my mother marry again if I gain A beard, bow and a spear Cautiously waiting while the animals are hunted Haste with lust the suitors swarms my mother's house Under the Olive trees of Artemis So mother is caged in lust Ten years later Will father come? Ever? Nodding away the hunts in all the suns Tonight I shall eat a bread on the table Yet the youths my age jump bulls Years passes Ethika is my prison Argh, I need to rescue my father Restrained by mother, she tells me to stay Sigh I shall When? Anguish eats my soul In places deep Then my father comes, slaying suitors I was about to spear my first animal, swords out and my beard prosper Now I am full of joy on seeing him at last and mother's knot remains still Gods, goddesses in pearly Olympus, thank you all for preserving my father Odysseus
