I had questions for years, but it really took the final blow of being mentally healed to say enough. **** However, I do not want to make this thread all about me since I have found a bunch of great people on YouTube with their deconversion stories posted as well. So, here are some I have found: My favorite is from Paul Harrison. Not for the weak-kneed, this is 5 hours long (31 parts)! But so, so, so good to watch. He explains things in such a way that I just could not describe - especially how one talks to God in their head. I totally, 100% related to his story. I do not think I have ever run into a more gracious fellow than him. I could especially relate to the addiction aspect. You ask God for relief..and it doesn't come. I started making progress when I realized it wasn't a sin issue or even a spritual issue. It was a chemical issue. My brain chemicals. I am glad you got to the root of your struggle and that you are doing well. Funny how christians go to doctors and take full advantage of modern medicine ( most anyway) But always praise god for the good results...ahem..how about praising the doctors..hello Shouldn't christians statistically have much better survival rates than non christians since jesus and the power of prayer is on their side...you just don't see it in the statistics. My brain chemicals. Thank you very much for the comments, localdude. I loved what you said above...not a sin nor spiritual issue... Yeah, that was exactly it, yet I and everyone around me treated it as such for years and years and years. It wasn't until the final time when I refused to pray about it anymore. I refused to look in the Bible for more answers. I absolutely refused to go on another "spiritual high". I sought a physical answer and got a physical solution that actually worked. 18 years with God did jack for me and a few months on medication saved my life. I guess I like to talk about it and I want people to understand me as much as possible. Why it actually matters I'm still trying to figure out...
