Nostradamus vs Bible

The Ankerberg Theological Research Instute listed some reasons why Nostradamus prophecies weren't real.

Earthquake

About the Great California Earthquake he mentioned no country, city or year. Should he've called it Bable, or Damascus? Because that's of course not 'literal'! Are there earthquakes prophecies in the Bible without mentioning countries or years?

Hitler

Hister stands not for Hitler. It's a place. And what about Bethlehem? Is Bethlehem a person or a place? (Nice read: Messiah Truth). And how do we make Jesus from Immanuel? That's a few substitutions more I guess. (The Jewish Messiah) The scribes in these times thought that the Messiah would come out of Bethlehem, and at least not from Nazareth. Do we have any proof of that?

It claims to happen in a year very near. And what about Matth. 24:34? That's not how someone would say that it will be a very, very long time until the events anounced. Jesus beats Nostradumus with a miscalculation of 2000 vs 400 years; and still the end is not yet there.

Reading a fulfillment back

There is nothing miraculous about reading a fulfillment back into a prophecy which could not be clearly seen there beforehand. Not a single prediction of Nostradamus has ever been proven genuine.
So the only prophecy is about Jesus birth in Bethlehem (because that was what the scribes told Herodes the magi)? A very suspicious story filled with astrology. Do xians read fulfillments backwards? Luk 9:45. Emmaus?

I found an interesting note about the hill at Nazareth.

Lk 4:28-30 describes Nazareth having a synagogue and a "brow of a hill whereon their city was built" presumably steep enough to kill Jesus had they succeeded in throwing him over it. But, present-day Nazareth occupies a valley floor and the lower half of a hillside. There is no hill. Further, present-day Nazareth has no 1st Century synagogue ruins. Origen 182-254 CE who lived in Caesarea 30 miles from present-day Nazareth does not mention Nazareth. The first solid reference to Nazareth comes from Eusebius in the 4th Century. (Source)

saviourmachine:

Don't you wonder why christians are so afraid to look critically at the very thing they're basing their life on? They'll read your post and just say, ah- just more propaganda from someone who hates God. And that will be all the further they'll look into it.

Here's another phony prophecy:

"This will fulfill the saying - 'He shall be called a Nazarene'".

Isn't to be found anywhere in scripture.

But christians will read that and go - "ALRIGHT! another prophecy fulfilled! that PROVES christianity is true."

Don't you wonder why christians are so afraid to look critically at the very thing they're basing their life on?  They'll read your post and just say, ah- just more propaganda from someone who hates God.  And that will be all the further they'll look into it.
But wouldn't make it some impression that I try to suggest that I'm honest, that I can't do anything else than come to this conclusion? What someones wants is certainty isn't it? Is it not marvelous that we can be sure about at least one thing: "That xianity is not true!"? It's biting its own tail, calling science pseudoscience, calling honesty devil-inspired*, calling determined action free will, calling human and animal sacrifice heavenly and desire for a man or woman hell worthy. It's a lack of knowledge that's prevents one from leaving xianity! Try to investigate!

* Nostradamus supposedly was under influence of denomic powers. Bystanders, this ingredient is sometimes added by the followers of a religion to explain miraculous events of other religions. But then, how is it possible that none of his prophecies became fulfilled? To contact the devil is as fruitless apparently. Maybe Nostradamus wasn't wilfully deceitful, but the result is the same. Be careful with truth, or esoteric truths.
