I see their recognition of the placebo effect of strong belief and Norman Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" to be useful sometimes. After all, a positive attitude is more productive than a defeatist or negative outlook. Their official adoption of unfounded mystical ideas bothers me. Most so called New Age authors copy the ideas of the movement. Attending a Deepak Chopra show or checking out a couple of his books or CDs will show what you have to believe in order to claim New Thought as your official belief system.
