Son Of Man In The Book Of Enoch

I've just been reading the book of Enoch. Ther is quiet a few interesting concepts in there. I find this piece quiet interesting.

Book of Enoch chapter XLVIII:

1. And in that place I saw the fountain of righteousness

Which was inexhaustible:

And around it were many fountains of wisdom;

And all the thirsty drank of them,

And were filled with wisdom,

And their dwellings were with the righteous and holy and elect.

2. And at that hour that Son of Man was named In the presence of the Lord of Spirits,

And his name before the Head of Days.

3. Yea, before the sun and the signs were created,

Before the stars of the heaven were made,

His name was named before the Lord of Spirits.

4. He shall be a staff to the righteous whereon to stay themselves and not fall,

And he shall be the light of the Gentiles,

And the hope of those who are troubled of heart.

5. All who dwell on earth shall fall down and worship before him,

And will praise and bless and celebrate with song the Lord of Spirits.

6. And for this reason hath he been chosen and hidden before Him,

Before the creation of the world and for evermore.

7. And the wisdom of the Lord of Spirits hath revealed him to the holy and righteous;

For he hath preserved the lot of the righteous,

Because they have hated and despised this world of unrighteousness,

And have hated all its works and ways in the name of the Lord of Spirits: p. 67

For in his name they are saved,

And according to his good pleasure hath it been in regard to their life.

My Bible doesn't have a Book of Enoch.

I thought this was interesting:

ASV Numbers 23:19

19. God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent.

ASV Job 25:6

How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a worm!

ASV Psalms 144:3-4

Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?

4. Man is like to vanity: His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

ASV Psalms 146:3

Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

ASV Ezekiel 2:1

1. And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak with thee.

[Talking to Ezekiel, a man]

And so on, and so on. ad infinitum.

The Son of Man is worm food, dead and long buried, dust in the wind.

The book of Enoch is a pre-Christian apochrypha which is not in the Bible but it seems to have had a quiet strong influence on the New testament, and its even qouted there in Jude.

Oh, there it is. The Seventh Son of Adam according to Jude. But it appears Jude is in error.

"Adam" never existed, unless it was some other Adam. But the First Enoch mentioned is a son of Cain and his wife (sister?). Unless Adam committed adultery with his daughter-in-law and fathered Enoch.

And Enoch was "translated" directly into Heaven having never tasted of death. Or they never found the body.

Now convince someone like LNC over in the Lion's Den that anyone besides us actually read something like 1 Enoch or took it seriously on any level much less managed to be influenced by it.
