In the United States based on reported rapes 25% of women will experience rape in their life.

 

Information from A Sexual Profile of Men in Power. This is a study done by Dr. Samuel Janus and Dr. Barbara Bess.

 

Bess and Janus conducted in-depth interviews with some 80 high-priced prostitutes about their 7645 clients. The researchers found that 60% of these clients exercised some form of political power. The other 40% were wealthy businessman. The authors required to independent sources for each report concerning the sexual habits of the clientele of these women before accepting it.

 

"Very seldom (only about 8% to 10% of the time) does a politician asked a call girl for straight intercourse." The researchers found out was that primarily clients in places of power requested, "games of humiliation and dominance." The authors reported that the women whom we interviewed reported their clients went much farther than that, often demanding them to act out complicated scenes of torture and mortification of the flesh, involving floggings, lacerations, mock crucifixions, and mutilation of their genitals." The authors conclude: "to understand why so many politicians are not merely promiscuous but are addicted to sadomasochistic practices for which they need the expensive services of a paraprofessional sex therapist requires a deeper look into the psychodynamics of the power seeker. These are characterized by a strong need to dominate which coexist in precarious equilibrium with the equally intense need for submission. This psychological pattern is manifested outwardly by a drive to subjugate and control others (but always in obedience to some higher ideal), and in private by imperious demands for violently aggressive sex which upon organism abruptly becomes transformed into an equally sure state of infantile dependence."

 

I suppose there are those that would argue that our society is not sick with insanity, but you can hardly argue a sane society chooses to be lead by such individuals.
