The Parable Of The Leaven

Matthew 13:33 says "He spoke to them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened.", the same parable is given in Luke 13:20-21. I find this interesting because in the bible whether it is OT, NT, Leaven is always used to symbolize corruption and/or sin. Even Jesus again in Matthew states "beware the leaven of the Pharisees" so obviously the writer of Matthew (unless there was more than one writer) knew that leaven could be used to symbolize corruption. So the point is that in this parable likens the kingdom of God to leaven, something which symbolizes corruption, which then leavens (corrupts) the pure flower which it is brought in contact with. What insights do people have into possible signficance of this parable? This might also be relevant to thread which Ted made suggesting that some of the writers of the NT writers where hiding subversive messages in the NT.

The kingdom of heaven is full of spotless Christians eternally molding shitcakes on dull wooden bread tables, unable to waft in the scent of their leaven works in progress. The kingdom of hell consists of those working for all eternity to provide them with the materials required to continue this process.
