Cerise
Minor adjustments to the form plus added lines. It wasn't working before, and I wouldn't say it's working now but...it's better. Sheesh, I'm going to be one of those writers who can't publish anything because I can't...stop...editing stuff! Anyway, Tori Amos once asked a bunch o' people, "do you know Carolina?" and I said, "sure, I do." Carolina Carolina has a smile She’ll give it if you ask her to Which is more then I would do Boy you don’t know where That smile’s been And she’s not telling She gives it closed lipped Carolina likes the sea She likes getting her feet wet But only when you least expect it Carolina’s got her own song The best you can do is follow along I said, I said Carolina’s got her own song Play along Carolina says she sees More of lucifer these days Eating dinner at the old café In Georgia She swallows cherries and Other strange fruits She comes to you with apples Held loose, loose Carolina likes sweet tea Sugar cubes and lemons On the cover of the Koran Carolina’s got her own song The best you can do is follow along I said, I said Carolina’s got her own song Play along If you ever get to New Orleans If you ever see her Carolina’s smile coming through Just remember, It’s more then I would do Remember, It’s more then I would do.
