It seems that book vandelism didn't die out after the Nazis: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=...id=532215&rfi=6 Here's one of the most chilling/arrogant parts...

AVIDD is a Houston-based veteran's group that was founded by General Raymond Davis, a four-star Marine. Its goal, according to its Web site, is to "search out and identify specifically who or what is causing the problems for America and neutralize the negative impact on our society. We will study the methods of these 'domestic enemies' of the United States and plan a strategy to neutralize their destructiveness. Our plan is to be as diplomatic as possible, but as assertive as the law permits."

"We're very serious about this issue. This is not light subject matter," Cabaniss said.

"One reason we want to do it is we've found that veteran's groups can take action without a lot of criticism. Who's going to criticize a veteran's organization?" he asked.

Is it just we or are fundies and "moralists" getting more militant and obnoxious? You guys remember that link to that Young Believer magazine? A line from it recently came into memory. It was this article about how the reader should be a solgier of God and that they should "hate the world" for it's sinfulness.

But one of the creams of the crap I came across today was an episode of Families in Focus. What helps separate from the rest of the fundy family shows is that the people on the show are Black, but also their pride in how they refuse to compromise on anything. To them, the root of all sin is compromise and female announcer proudly proclaims that she wouldn't even enter a building that plays secular music. And not just metal and rap, but jazz, rythem and blues, and country. In other words, if it's deary and kisses God's ass, it's okay.

I'm just not sure if I pity or am disgusted by them.

the more people leave the Churches and fend for themselves, the harder they'll try and more militant they'll become at protecting their enterprises

It seems that book vandelism didn't die out after the Nazis:

When you think you're morally superior, and that the inferiors have no rights (the right to think, breathe, or live), yes, it does vaguely remind us of Nazism. The political furor that accompanies these groups is more aptly named fascism, which is once again raising its ugly head around the world.

And the xtians on this board wonder why we oppose their faith...we wouldn't if they didn't do shit like this.

It's too bad the radicals have the moderates cowed - that's how it worked in Islam, and look at the mess they made.
