Favorite Childhood TV Shows

A lot of the above mentioned, and also... Mr. Terrific, Captain Nice, Laugh In, The Funny Side, It's About Time, Reel Camp (was on 1am or so on what is now Fox), are some of the ones I remember but not talked about much. Well, maybe Laugh In.

It was so much easier before cable to have 'favorite shows', nowadays it's hard to keep up with everything on TV while spending all your time on the net! LOL

One of my favorites as a little kid was Sh-Ra. For me it was cool to see a female in an adventure toon who wasn't walking scenery. Then again, I watched a lot of cartoons as a little kid as well as the Cosby Show.

While I did watch many of these programs in rerun too, I assure I was there for the original broadcasts. I was born in 1960

Start Trek (The original)

Bewitched

I Dream of Jeanie

The Munsters

The Addams Family

Warner Bros. Cartoons (Bugs, Porky, Foghorn, Road Runner, etc.)

Hanna Barbara Cartoons (Huckleberry Hound, etc.)

I could just say ditto here..also a 1960..except Star Trek. Didn't get to see that one until reruns as we were in Germany during its first run.

Used to come on right about the time I got home from school everyday. I still watch it when it comes on.

Add to the list:

That Girl and Family Affair..

hehehehe, Vigile and Dio...my dad still gets a kick out of "the seeement pond."

My faves were the Munsters and Bullwinkel and Rocky. What a hoot!

Johhny Quest was really cool. I think the entire neighboorhood sang along with the opening lines of The Brady Bunch (not one of my faves, but influential nonetheless). Boy, just think...The Brady Bunch having an INFLUENCE. Gives one pause. hmmmm.

Petticoat Junction and Green Acres!

Didn't care for Get Smart..

There was another show, and I can't remember what it was..it was NOT "Lost in Space", but the theme song went something like: "Its about time, its about space..." I musta been about 4 or 5 when it was on, which puts it early-mid 60's...hmm..

Jonny Quest.

YES! I loved Jonny Quest! The last cartoon that allowed the bad guys to actually get killed! To death! :woohoo:

I always thought "Race Bannon" was pretty cool. My real name isn't that much different from his, so I thought that was kinda nifty also.

I was then, and am now a HUGE Sid and Marty Kroft fan.

Someone mentioned HR Puff N Stuff, that was a Kroft show as was

Liddsville

Sigmund the Sea monster

The Bannana Splits and

The Bugaloos

Good gravy what were those boys smokin? The colors, the insanity and the weird freakin puppets. I loved all of it. I still think Sid and Marty Kroft are responcible for some serious reality issues with my generation.

I also watched

I Dream of Jeanie

and

Bewitched

in the afternoon, in re-runs.

Saturday morning there was both

The Osmands

and

The Jackson Five

in cartoon and I remember the year

Scooby Doo

started.

Weekday mornings my older brothers groaned as I wanted to watch

Hobo Kelly

and

Romper Room

and Mom sided with me.

Our TV would not get UHF channnels so I never saw Seaseme Street as a kid. (I was born in 1965 BTW)

In the evening my favorite was

The Wonderful World of Disney

and any "Special" all those clamation holiday specials, LOVED those.

I feel old reading the lists here of people remembering the shows my 18 year old daughter watched when she was a kid. Like Pee Wee, and Ninja Turtles. Oh and I did kind of enjoy the Disney afternoon shows, I saw some mentioned here. One small little bar of the Duck Tales theme song and it is stuck in my head all day.

Was she part of the "Power Rangers" craze of the mid-1990s? She's about the right age for it.

Yep, she sure was. She got all upset with me one year at Halloween, cuz all the Pink Ranger costumes were gone, and my mother had already made her this pink princess costume. I totally lucked out, they did an episode where it was Halloween and the Pink Ranger wore a pink princess coustume, complete with conical hat just like my mother had made for her. Sooooooooo she was the pink ranger after all.

Good save!

My daughter hadn't yet asked for the costume. . .but I knew her well enough to anticipate it, so I picked one up (from the PR movie) and headed her off at the pass. After that, like it or not, she was gonna be the Pink Ranger, dammit!

Seriously, I approved of her watching the show. To me it was more of a live action comic book than anything else, and it showed people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds working together without a second thought about it. Good life lesson there.

Of course shelling out for the toys was the fun part. They didn't really cost all that much. . .but it was finding them.

Let me guess,

Ace Zannon?

Chase Mannon?

Case Canyon?

Blaise Blandon?

C'mon Challenger, give us another hint.

Well. . .OK, since you asked so nicely.

There is a recent movie starring one of my favorite ladies. She's English.

Her character's name was the same as mine.

Have fun!
