DrNo
I was thinking about the phrase "There are no atheists in foxholes," something that believers will sometimes say as if this somehow proves the existence of god. I realized, however, that this phrase actually just illustrates that one of the strongest motivators for faith is fear. In this case, fear of death, but there are lots of fears that believers have that motivate their faith (e.g. fear of ostracism, fear of loneliness, etc.). So next time someone tells you that there are no atheists in foxholes, use it as an opportunity to talk about what is really motivating their faith. Eban73
I would like to hope there's no one in the foxhole when a bomb or grenade come into the picture.
