Intelligently Designed Eyes

Recommended Posts

Ultraviolet light is rather harmful to human beings. If I were intelligently designing human eyes, it would be really nifty to give humans the ability to see these wavelengths of light. Oh well, what god has given us is pretty good. In fact, since god has taken a particularly special interest in designing us, I wouldn't expect lower forms of life to have capabilities beyond what was designed for us. Clearly, human physiology is the biological apex of the world.

Oh wait....

Sarcasm aside, it's an interesting and compelling read.

Our eyes are so intelligently designed that most of our population needs glasses.

aaaargh.. the eye argument. Silly.

Most animals (and 99% of plants) have sensitivity to light…(light sensitive cells) even the most 'primitive'. Studying biology quickly answers this dumbass question. Animals which used to have vision but have moved underground or deeper in the sea lose this ability. They still have the structure but since it isn't needed it 'atrophies' so to say.

Look up animals that live in caves.. they lose their pigment as well because it's not required and is a waste of energy/resources.

Some insects have better vision than humans. Birds of prey make us look positively blind. Other birds are very sensitive to the earths magnetic field. Some snakes see infrared… bees see ultraviolet… cats have way better motion and light sensitivity. Sharks can 'see' electromagnetic fields and can smell up to a mile or more away. Bats and dolphins see by sound (sonar). Clams can sense the moon. Actually.. compared to animals our senses are very dull.. we are almost deaf and blind…. wish some people were mute as well. LOL

The article in the original post only helps to confirm my position that mantis shrimp are actually an alien form of life that has been deposited here on earth by aliens. Those things are fantastically weird in so many ways, it's difficult to believe they evolved here on this planet. :)

My self included unfortunately. Possibly...dare I say...bifocals in a few years.

If I'm made in his image he's an old fart with bad eyes, worse hearing, a bum heart and diabetes. I feel sorry for the big kahuna.

And why is it only weird hippy ladies can see auras? An intelligent designer would at least give the ability to psychiatrists, the police and judges too.
