Goodbye Jesus

Rapture Alert

After listening to Jason Gastrich debate against many atheist, I kind of figured why he is so hell bent on keeping on the faith, despite his ass being whooped up a 100 times.

If you notice in his debate, he seems to obsessed with the rapture. In the Dan Barker debate he said something on the line of "The nations are lining up against Isreal, the armies are gonna invade Isreal,..........there is gonna be a nuclear fallout, and it's all there in the bible"

He and other christians like him are just obsessed with the events of Isreal. The Rapture Alert level must be very high right now in the evangelical circle considering the situation about Ariel Sharon and the Iran Nuclear program,

I am pretty sure Gastrich and the like must be waiting for Jesus to come up and take him up with him any moment now.

God forbid, even if Iran manages to detonate a nuclear weapon on Isreal, all the evangical christians like Gastrich will probably jump in joy and say "Oh lord, thank for showing us your sign that you true, as you showed us a event that is described in the bible".

And I am pretty sure many christian during 9/11 must have praised God too, for they must have felt that the end times are here.

It is very sick mentality.

Of course. Although there have many other instances were a mass of people thought the world was going to end. World War 2 and Adolf Hitler meet the best descriptions for the end of times. But, it didn't happen then and probably won't happen now and if it does, I'm pretty positive it won't be the christian one.

probably, because their faith is based of of miraculous displays (which Jesus chastised, btw). So, their entire psyche is bent on resolving their leap of faith. Man, if they could just drop the scriptural inerrency BS and live good & honest lives, they'd be doing a lot better spiritually, IMO.

Also IMO, if your spiritual life completely depends on cryptic predictions and belief in miracles, it is evident that you are about as spiritually bankrupt as you think atheists are.

Exactly correct. What is the focus of their beliefs about, really? It's not about spirituality, it's about being "right". There is a term for that: Self Righteousness.
