violetbutterfly
I saw a license plate today that said "DYD FA ME." It was on the car that cut me off in traffic and then proceeded to drive 10 miles under the speed limit, blocking me into the lane. Is driving the speed limit a sin?

randomatheist
Certainly being prideful that a human being (real or believed as real) died for you isn't a sin.

No it's not, but one should always drive at a safe and prudent speed considering the state of themselves, their vehicle, and the condition of the roads/weather. DYD FA ME doesn't mean anything does it? I mean really, that might be the name of a band on the cover of Rolling Stone in two weeks. You should leave early if you have to be somewhere. The speed limit is a limit. It isn't the speed at which one has to travel, after all.
older
There are too many jerks out there behind the wheel. When I encounter one, I try to get as far away as possible, preferably behind rather than in front, of them. I don't want them to whack me from the rear. Not too long ago, I had someone cut me off and hit the brakes in that classic scam of forcing you to rear-end them so they can collect big bucks on an injury claim. I managed to avoid the hit. I immediately installed dash cams in both vehicles.

I was coasting along at a reasonable speed and some jerk cut in front of me and then started driving much slower than was necessary, for absolutely no reason. I was pretty irritated. I assume their plate meant "died for me" so now they're saved and allowed to drive however the hell they please, apparently. If they choose to drive under the speed limit then they should also avoid pulling out in front of people. He could have waited until I passed. If you're so "safe"that you don't feel you need to drive the limit then you should also learn how much room is enough between cars and how to judge their speed before you change lanes. Super Moderator buffettphan Posted September 17, 2014 Super Moderator Share Posted September 17, 2014 It seems like every jackass on the road around here has either that stupid fish, an anti-choice bumpersticker, or a xtian personalized license plate on their vehicle. Confirmation bias...? Me? Never. I swear. lol.

I immediately installed dash cams in both vehicles. Today, my light turned green and 3 cars ran the red in front of me. As I was honking my horn and looking right for more red-runners, a car from the left did a U-turn in front of me and I had to slam on my brakes a second time in seconds. I yearn for the good ol' days in DC when drivers just drove too fast and too close.
