Justin
Hmmm, interesting topic. Right now off the top of my head Id say "Time" by Pink Floyd. Not so much because of the lyrics, which are kind of depressing, but because of that great guitar. A friend and myself where actually discussing this very thing not to long ago and he wants "Clocks" by Coldplay played at his.

Jeff
I do not care. Whatever my family remembers me liking best. That will give the most comfort. - Now. While I'm actually dying I'd appreciate someone cranking up Rebel Yell and then throwing on Loudness - Thunder In The East. If I live long enough to make it through that then Rick Wakeman's Journey To the Center of the Earth would make it just the perfect death
Super Moderator florduh Posted March 3, 2015 Super Moderator Share Posted March 3, 2015 Since I won't be listening anyway, let the living do as they see fit. However, if they have paid any attention at all they will play someone's rendition of Paul Anka's "My Way" and possibly Leonard Cohen's "Bird on the Wire." It would also be a nice touch if they got Weird Al to perform the numbers. But if they would rather just dance to polka music, the party's for them and not me! Now I need to reminisce with some Loudness and W.A.S.P. I'd like to see everybody having a good time at my funeral. Dance music works. How about Play That Funky Music White Boy, YMCA, A Little Less Conversation, and Cha Cha Slide?

Thrive
My family knows that I would prefer to be cremated, but that the service is up to them. Funerals are for those left behind so whatever brings them comfort. When my husband died I was pretty out of it and most of the arrangements were made by family. Someone found out that Elton John's "Your Song" had been our wedding song and they got a family friend to sing it. He pulled up a chair, sat with his guitar and just sang. It was pretty perfect. And you can tell everybody this is your songIt may be quite simple butNow that it's doneI hope you don't mindI hope you don't mindThat I put down in wordsHow wonderful life is while you're in the world
