Ellinas
I today came across a message from a Christian to other Christians about his son being taken seriously ill. It was the usual stuff about how he was being treated, had been stabilized but how now the family was relying completely upon god. The medics clearly were irrelevant. He was asking for prayer. And that did not surprise me. But what did get my hackles up was when it occurred to me that this man, speaking of his child, had found the time to write a long message, full of language couched in a KJV biblical style and rather flowery references to god's love and his family's trust. I could stomach, and would have expected, a brief "please pray for us" note. But you don't write a bloody pamphlet when your son is possibly on his deathbed.
amateur
My son and his treatment would come first, second, and third with me.
