mymistake
Oh I doubt there will be any consequences but is was terribly funny. So today I went to this party that a deeply devout Catholic family was throwing for their daughter. It was like a huge deal with a professional photographer and two different priests to say separate blessings. As usual when the priest asked us to close our eyes and bow our heads I choose to decline. I use the prayer time to look for other atheists and agnostics, as I usually do. I'm looking around the whole time. Then I spot the camera man doing his job. He is snapping pics of all the people praying. Good guy camera man isn't trapped in some barbaric religion. But suddenly he points his camera in the general direction of my side of the room. I think "oh crap!". Here I am standing next to all these devout Catholics who are praying is such reverence and I'm staring right at the camera! It's so preposterous that I crack up laughing. And that is when he snaps the pic of me. I'm laughing my head off looking right at him while surrounded by all these devout believers deep in prayer. I think the hosts are going to know I'm an atheist. Can't live it down now.
ConsiderTheSource
Sometimes I think prayer was really created in order to identify those who have "good standing" with the group.
Fweethawt
You seriously need to get a copy of that pic and frame it! I would love to have something like that with 'ME' in it. That's just too funny.

Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted May 18, 2015 Super Moderator Share Posted May 18, 2015 The closest I ever come to praying these days is when I say, "JOHN, Grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And the wisdom to know the difference." And I only ever do that on the rare occasion that I feel like empowering myself.
