integral
Here is a John Shelby Spong interview, author of 'Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism', with a Canadian radio show. I really liked the interview, the interviewer asked insightful questions, and Spong is a pretty witty fellow. He even called the desire for reward in an afterlife 'childlike and immature.' Stormwarden
Spong's work intrigues me. He understands the importance of personal accountability, although most Xians don't consider him "Christian" because he feels that prayer is useless. Astreja
Very good interview. It sounds like his faith turned the corner when he pushed all the dogma off to one side and focused on his inner experience. And his comment about "God is not a He, not a She, not even an It" intrigued me. I admit that I smiled (or at least smirked) when he mentioned that he only gets death threats from fundamentalists, never from atheists or agnostics.
