No matter what denomination of Christian you happen to be, I'd bet even money that I can find at least ten other denominations that think you are going to hell and not a "true Christian." ...so exactly where in the hell do you folks get off coming in making arrogant and uninformed judgements on us when your own religion can't even reach a consensus on what a "true christian" is?! To say that "we can't be atheists," or just telling us that we can or can't be anything is a little freakin' silly when your own religion can't even get its own crap together! To say we lack morals is even more idiotic when your own religion has a hard time even deciding on what is actually "moral" or not... I saw something on another forum a while back where they were trying to "prove" that it took more "faith" to be an atheist than it did to believe in god; I thought of a signature line I saw recently that said "The day that atheism becomes a religion is the day that not collecting stamps becomes a hobby." ...any other input? I'm working on a semi-humorous essay of sorts that sort of relates to some of this. My dad is in utter disbelief that all three of his sons have utterly rejected christianity; I mean, he can't even COMPREHEND the idea of it ...almost spooky-like. He's an educated guy, retired minister, PhD in theology, and he taught his kids how to think and question. Then he is oblivious as to how we could actually question religion... The thing I am working on is the prevalent notion that "our ideas can't be wrong" that seems to be kind of the norm anymore. It's like people can't even grasp the concept of the fact that other people don't believe the same way or like the same things as them. The topic centers on some people I used to work with who would bitch about the guy at the gas station playing his rap music at 80 decibels, while at the same time cranking thier C&W music to drown out the Led Zeppelin or whatever we had going at the time. And let me add, this fear, ignorance and hatred for others -- whether it is other religions, lack there of, and other rationalities as well as sexual preferences...is getting very old. As Xians, your religious beliefs have killed more people than anyone can ever fathom. The fact that you (xians) don't have morals of your own, traditions of your OWN, etc, is just place and point that you are the ultimate plagerists. The babble is littered with inconsistencies and pretty vague when it comes to defining anything much less what a true christian really looks and acts like.... No one can agree what makes or does not make a true Christian - even among Christians. Look at Marguerite Perrin from Trading Spouses. She and her little friends think she's an awesome Christian... a self-proclaimed God Warrior. But most Christians you talk to find her revolting and are ashamed that she calls herself a christian. Therefore, you're tread title is right by the sheer definition without any additions. There are no true christians because there is no true definition of what one is... See what I mean?
