Freedom And The Power Of Choice

Was it a cosmic, random fluke that created our universe? Or did a god create it for a specific purpose? The debate that often rages between these two viewpoints normally centers on scientific facts. One often overlooked thought to consider in this argument is this, would humanity be better off setting the notion of “purpose” aside, and surrendering to the idea that existence is merely a fluke? Would we be freer to choose our own destiny and to make this world a better place if we weren’t so focused on finding a supernatural purpose to life?

This paragraph begins a short article I've written about freedom and the power of choice. It's a non-believers/atheist perspective. Didn't want to post the article here, but for those of you who have about 10 minutes, I'd appreciate some feedback.

Another key paragraph . . .

True freedom can only exist in a vacuum of purpose. A god can easily program the sense of freedom into created beings, but the very fact that it has created humans to experience freedom renders freedom void of meaning. In other words, the problem is, if this god has created a world were choices must be made, and created in the mind of man the satisfaction that these choices mean freedom, then we would do better to consider that freedom in the religious context is merely an illusion.
