DevilsCabanaBoy
In short. If Jesus didn't sin (Share in the curse of Adam & Eve) How did he die? Christians claim that it was the choice of Adam & Eve that doomed all of humankind to death, causing corruption and decay to the whole of creation. Before they ate from the tree of knowledge death was unknown to them. If Jesus was perfect, sinless and didn't have the nature of Adam & Eve, how was his body subject to death? Although Genesis doesn't say creation was perfect and death free (Only good in God's eyes) Have these Christians got the story of genesis right? Some Christian theology holds that Jesus took on the sins of the world which caused him to die.... that and the spirit of god leaving him. Both these concepts are found in the bible. As far as the story of Genesis being right - its a story. It's like asking is Harry Potter right? Well as far as the story goes sure, as far as reality goes... not so much.

Yes, it's so frustrating when dealing with Christian theology (That's there no plain truth)
Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted February 7, 2019 Super Moderator Share Posted February 7, 2019 The bible says that jesus "gave up the ghost," making it seem like he made a willful, conscious decision to die... Now where's a good euthanasia thread when you need one?

That's right, he also said "I lay down my life and pick it up anytime I want" so he was only fooling about death, since death cannot effect him. Moderator Hierophant Posted February 9, 2019 Moderator Share Posted February 9, 2019 If you look in Genesis, Chapter Two I think (Chapter Two is a more robust creation account than Chapter One), it actually reads as if Adam and Eve had to eat from the tree of life to stay alive. It was the reason they were booted out, God was afraid they would live forever with their new found knowledge.
◊ DestinyTurtle ◊
It's not supposed to make sense, it's supposed to make you teary-eyed because of some kind of "sacrifice" it represented. Seems to me Jesus was just a kind guy who spoke his mind, and people got mad and killed him. Now many people quote him, backed with two thousand years of theologizing to rationalize why it's actually a good thing to punish and kill innocent people who speak their minds.
