Fallen Angel Poem

This was my first poem that I wrote that I thought was worth posting. BTW it has nothing to do with gawd, jeebus, or angels. Let me know what you think.

 

 

As the pain in my eyes build,

Never stopping to pause,

It grows larger with every tear,

I want to tear myself away but I fear,

That none will hear me when the thread of my life snaps,

As I fall into the pit of torment from Heaven’s light,

Screaming in pain all the way down.

 

Down,

Down,

Down.

 

I hit the bottom with a crunching sound,

Every bone in my body is broken,

My whole soul aches with the pain of ages,

Untold years I walk this Earth.

For centuries past I have not once heard,

Words of love except from one man,

I meet Him and He said.

 

I have loved you since the day you came,

I ran for I could not hide the shame,

From the one who has shown me true love,

I begin to follow this man on His journeys,

Unseen by the eyes of many,

I walked in his footsteps through the sands of time,

Not seeing what lay ahead for this man.

 

Death had come for the Man of Peace.

I watched for I couldn't help,

As he was beaten in front of me,

My transparent arms wanting to grab him,

Carry him off to safety within my broken wings,

He looks at me and says no though his mouth moves not,

I feel sadness wash over me as He’s ripped apart.
