Why don't christians read the bible?

I sometimes debate with muslims and though they may distort what is in the quran, they generally have read their holy nook to a greater or lesser degree.

 

But when it comes to christians, they are all so totally ignorant of what is in the bible, never having read it, relying on the lies of the men in frocks who have not read it either.

 

Even bible study is just the same few nicey verses, carefully avoiding all the nasty stuff God did and Jesus' hate speech.

 

Christians all mindlessly quote the same John 3:16 without asking why a God who can do anything has to sacrifice his son to do something. What was the point of Jesus' sacrifice? If God wants Heaven and Hell open for business, then it is done. That is what all powerful means.
