Heaven. What is in it for God?

Sexton Blake

OK, let's say you are God.

You have Heaven to yourself and the angels who cater for your every wish. A nice peaceful place.

So why when the Earth ends are you going to fill it up with maybe a hundred billion pesky humans who will expect you and the angels to wait on them as servants, forever?

What is in it for you?

And if you leave them all dead, it is not as if they are going to rise out of their graves and sue you.

And if somehow they did and got upset, you would just point to the priests, imams, monks, and so on, and say they promised you Heaven. Not me.

And of course, there is the bible:

Genesis 3:22. Adam and Eve should not have access to the tree of life and so become immortal like “us”.

1Timothy 6:13-16. Only god is immortal.

Ezekiel 18:4 Souls can die.

John 11:11-14 Death is like a sleep.

Psalm 146:6 and Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10  The dead do not think, don’t know anything and do not have emotions.

Ecclersiastes 3: 19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Ecclesiastes 12:7  When death occurs the body goes back to dust and the breath of life goes back to god.

Job 7:9,10 14:12  The dead cannot come back.

God gets all that worship.  Maybe humans will really add to the harmony when singing praise songs?  Or maybe they just all get to worship?  Like they really think they want to do?

Of course, the Revelation says that god comes to Earth so no one really goes to heaven but it's not like that matters I suppose.  Or maybe it does?  Maybe god wants a change of pace?  I know we're told that god is unchanging and all that but maybe that's only for the duration of that collection of books?  Maybe god really mixes things up and goes unpredictable and wild once this particular phase is over?

So he takes all the squares, locks them into boring old heaven to sniff their own farts, then throws a cosmic party?  Woohoo!

God is not a happy person so his idea of punishment may be being happy:
