Goodbye Jesus

Why are religious people so nasty?

The Atheist's Prayer:

"Dear Lord; protect me from your followers".

Not just christianity but other religions too, many see you as either for them or against them and if against them, you deserve whatever hate and violence they can give you.

This despite the fact that they believe that their God is one day going to punish you himself by sending you to Hell where he will torture you forever for your sins.

Despite verses like:

Jesus commanded his disciples not to judge.
Judge not, that ye be not judged. Matthew 7:1

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged. Luke 6:37

And Paul seemed to agree with Jesus on that. (At least in Romans)
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 14:10

Or until Jesus comes. (In First Corinthians)

Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come. 1 Corinthians 4:5

As did the author of James.
Who art thou that judgest another? James 4:12

And yet Christianity has an absolutely horrible history of intolerance, hatred, torture and war against anyone who does not believe as they do. Even against fellow christians who believe in a slightly different version of the same faith:

If only Jesus had said: "LET NO PERSON SUFFER OR DIE IN MY NAME", he could have saved tens of millions of innocent people suffering and dying in his name.
