Goodbye Jesus

Over 500 people saw the risen Jesus. Really?

This is in 1 Corinthians 15 : 6 written by an unknown claiming to be "Paul", which gives his works an alleged early date.

F.C. Baur claims they and other letters are authentic (Hauptbriefe) but typically makes no attempt to justify that assertion.

1Cor  : 3 says that Jesus died for our sins but:

"These verses claim that the scriptures prophesied that Jesus would suffer, die, and be resurrected from the dead. But where are the prophecies that are referred to here? Hosea 6:2 perhaps? But this verse refers to the people living at the time (hence "us") and therefore cannot be fulfilled by the death and resurrection of Jesus.

1Cor 15 : 4 , "Paul" says Jesus was seen by him though Acts 9:4, 5 says that Saul saw no one as he was blinded.

Acts 9:8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

The Saul story is obviously a lie. Bart Ehrman who is an expert on very early christianity tells us that it took a long time to build up followers, and that the disciples were forced to take people other religions did not want; like women, children and slaves. Also that Rome encompassed many religions and to keep the peace, was very tolerant of them. In the Jesus-Pilate dialogue, Jesus says to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, in other words that he is not upsetting Rome. Also he is allegedly crucified because of the Jews and not the Romans.

There was no reason to persecute the handful of christians at the time, let alone set Saul on them, so the story is fake, made up by "Paul" who never met Jesus, to try and pretend he did, so that whatever he claims has Jesus' seal of approval.

The claim that over 500 people saw the risen Jesus is clearly yet another lie. There is no mention of a sudden up-swell of christianity caused by such an event and so many who had seen the miracle and as witnesses would have told many others with some even becoming disciples themselves. This stupid lie is of course not mentioned anywhere else.

Acts 9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus,

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; that they are without excuse:

As people go, Paul was thick. He claimed his religion and the miracles, etc were obvious to all when clearly they were not, so the idea of thicko Saul confounding the Jews in Damascus was nonsense, as the Jews would have been steeped in their religion and torn his obvious lies to shreds.

I heard the explanation that Paul saw Jesus through a vision.  When you believe in magic, anything is possible!  😇
