A thousand years are as one day to God

This is one of a number of trashy excuses used by christians to show that "god can do anything", along with god living outside time (ie: He is an immortal statue) and outside the Universe (something the flat earth bible clearly knew nothing about).

 

It comes from 2Peter 3:8 

 

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

 

2Peter is a pseudepigraph (fake)

written as late as 160 AD, along with 1Timothy, 2Timothy and Titus, also fakes.

 

2Peter has some other trash in, like verse 3:10

 

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

 

This was made up by an imaginative idiot with zero knowledge of astronomy.

 

There is also verse 3:16 which talks of the works of Paul

 

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

 

Is the unknown author admitting that he is stupid here?
