I would expect the brain activity in a comatose person would be closer to the brain activity of a person in a dream state rather than in a conscious state. Even after the declaration of death (maybe up to 20 minutes thereafter) scientist have recorded brain activity. But only when these people recover from such an unconscious state, like a coma, can they reflect on their ideas and experiences during such an unconscious state -- then consider such recollections as near death experiences.

I have heard that most people who recover from NDEs no longer fear death.  Is it because they think they have seen the "other side of the veil"??  I don't remember that being discussed.  It is interesting that it doesn't seem to matter if they are religious or not.

Yeah, interesting twist -- religious of not?

This link is related, but instead relates to consciousness -- something that Josh probably would have commented on.

And this link relates to NDE
