She works in a public school in the inner city, here is how the scam works. 1: Politician X complains about the low scores on tests. 2: A new policy/bill/law is signed. 3: Money is allocated. 4: The teachers/principles are put under pressure. 5: The achievement tests are dumbed down - 'study' sheets are handed out. 6: Test scores go up thanks to brain dead easy tests, coaching, cheating. 7: School keep funding. 8: Politician claims higher scores prove system is working. 9: Kids continue to be dumber than a basket of onions. Basically, the politicans and teachers unions are using the school system as personal lottery - a scam on the American people. As Chef points out, people are too busy sacrificing there kids to TV, the internet, and pretty automobiles to give a crap. I couldn't agree with Chef more - in ancient Israel they had Molech into whose arms they'd toss live babies to watch 'em burn. Today we do the same thing but we are too lazy to toss the kid into the flames - we just let 'em rot in the corner. Kudos again to Chef. Oh, and Ramen666 - if I knew at 18 what I know NOW about how poor my education was I'd of taken the wonderful young age of 18 to take control of my education and insist on and work towards something better. Teach yourself if you have to - but by golly, don't get to age 25 without knowing latin, or greek - or without reading some good classics and getting familar with Homer, Virgil and those good 'ole boys that laid the foundation for Western Civilization. I mostly hang out at theologyweb.com but I got banned over there until the end of the month for a fundraiser.
