NimbusBirdMgp
I just don't care for Lyrical Song Music. It was strange for me to try to acclimate to Christian Lyrical Song Music and get myself to like that, when I was trying to be a Christian in the past. But after Apostating, I also find myself really never liking Lyrical Song Music. I find it can be a form of bias and stereotyping in the mind. That is why for me, Ambient New Age Music works for me. I'm origional with the music. Now if I could find someone to just let me experience a boogie (?) That would be better than words cluttering up my mind from the mysteries of this life. Ro-bear
So, Rob, did you get another song to add to your Soundtrack In Hell? My all time fave in that category must be "Afternoon Delight"...I can honestly say that it makes me want to send a bounty hunter after the morons who slicked that baby onto vinyl. How can you not love "Afternoon Delight"? Here are some more songs that make me feel bad about the species: Macarthur Park-The Donna Summer version In The Year 2525- Death is too good for these bastards Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks I'm sure I'll think of more. Major groan. Seasons in the sun. It's 1977, I'm stuck in a car pool going to school, that song comes on, and the annoying teeny-boppers driving that day refuse to change the channel. No wonder I was such a crappy student that year. Of course, the stuff churned out today is so much "better" ...I'm sounding like my parents all of a sudden. Merlinfmct87
My high school marching band did Knights in White Satin (or Nights?). It was awesome. I love Moody Blues. ( I sure hope I just didn't embarass myself and quote a Blood Sweat and Tears song, I get them confused sometimes) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Moody Blues - and it's Nights. I'd love to hear how they managed it... :drools: He wrote the song that made the whole world sing, and you don't know who he is? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, too bad Barry Manilow didn't write it. *pet peeve of mine folks, don't mind me...* Merlin
Ro-bear
Curtdude, you must be about my age. I'm Class of '77. Who could forget the joyful repetitiveness of Boston? Or the superseriousness of Kansas? I thought that year would never end. No wonder Elvis died.
Brutal Brian
How can you not love "Afternoon Delight"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sung in four part harmony recently in Anchorman, no less. Comes as an extra video on the DVD.

Hey Rob, Class of '80, managed to actuallly wear bell bottoms until 1981 (a bit late on the fashion uptake). Ah, Boston...another guilty pleasure of our generation. And Kansas, I'm sorry but their music was so pseudo-ponderous. I still know guys who consider "Dust in the wind" to be A Deep Song. Thank god for punk rock. Lanakila
My least favorite--I hate it song is played on the radio all the time now. Last summer when it was number 1 on the charts was worse but suck. If you have heard it you know what I mean. NELLY (f/ Tim McGraw) LYRICS Over And Over Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again And I can't keep picturing you with him And it hurts so bad, yeah Cause it's all in my head I think about it over and over again I replay it over and over again And I can't take it yeah I can't shake it Nooo I can't wait to see you Want to see if you still got that look in your eyes That one you had for me before we said our goodbyes And it's a shame that we got to spend our time Being mad about the same things Over and over again About the same things Over and over again Ohh But I think she's leaving Ooh man she's leaving I don't know what else to do (I can't go on not loving you) Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again And I can't keep picturing you with him And it hurts so bad, yeah Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again I replay it over and over again yeah And I can't take it yeah I can't shake it Nooo I remember the day you left I remember the last breath you took right in front of me When you said that u would leave I was too damn stubborn to try to stop you or say anything But I see clearly now And this choice I made keep playing in my head Over and over again Playing my head Over and over again Ohh I think she's leaving Ooh man she's leaving I don't know what else to do (I can't go on not loving you) Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again And I can't keep picturing you with him And it hurts so bad, yeah Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again I replay it over and over again And I can't take it I can't shake it Nooo (Now that I've realizes that I'm going down From all this pain you've put me through Everytime I close my eyes I lock it down I can't go on not loving you) Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again And I can't keep picturing you with him And it hurts so bad, yeah Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again I replay it over and over again And I can't take it I can't shake it Nooo Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again And I can't keep picturing you with him And it hurts so bad, yeah Cause its all in my head I think about it over and over again I replay it over and over again And I can't take it I can't shake it Nooo Over and Over again Over and Over again Cause it's all in my head

Damn it, Eponymic, now that "True" song is in my head... Hey TAP, you have not weighed in on Rob's "PlayList for Hell." We need some KoolKristians input (since we presume you won't be there). hahahaha
Ro-bear
Thank god for punk rock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anyone remember the immortal "Kill the Poor" by the Dead Kennedys? "Gluttony" by Alice Bagg contains the best rock and roll scream I've ever heard. Yes, the 80's were kind until punk and art rock (a la King Crimson) gave way to the big hair bands. I can't stand that fuckin' song, was never a fan of McGraw, and Nelly's lyrics are trite like a 5 year old chinese girl trying to write a Shakespearean Sonnet in 16th century English 'I'm a sucka for cornrolls and manicured toes, hey!' Manicured Toes, huh?
