Ouroboros
I do believe this is the real causes we are facing. And I don't like this kind of ignorance so many people are having about this. Yup. I do believe we're heading for a big ride. The ride of our life, and probably in our time too. We're slowly heading for the top of the rollercoaster, and soon we'll start to see how big the hill is on the other side, and we have to roll all the way down in high speed. I can't say if the causes to the global warming is human or natural, but I suspect it's both. We might be heading for a warming as it is, but pollution is not helping to stop it. The last I read was the the Siberian permafrost is melting. Some million square kilometres area. The temperature has increased 3 degrees last 40 years. The real melting started just a few years ago, and creates huge areas of lakes. This permafrost came to be 11,000 years ago, and hasn't melted once since. It will also release huge amounts of methane gas. This is happening in Alaska as well. So we can see something is going on in the world, and of course we can't blame technology only for this, because there's could be other reasons, but I'm just thinking that we might be feeding the monster extra food, and it grows faster and stronger because of us humans. Ouroboros
The technicality with that, is that the promise was meant for the "whole earth", not that he wouldn't send any floods at all. LOL So true. It's not kosher to kill everyone in one blow, but kill people is still okey in the eyes of God. But wait a minute? Is it God or the Devil causing these events? So God is still like the OT God, killing people for minor sins here and there, and Jesus didn't die for humanities sins so they can get forgiveness? I guess God changed his mind again, so salvation is no more, he's back to his old mean self again.
Colin Benson
I would guess the typical scapegoats for the finger pointing fundies would be abortionists and gays. Well perhaps kids who read Harry Potter too.
Amethyst
And the hurricans will get more and bigger. Something to think about when you look back at what I think about this. I agree with you there. I think a lot of environmental experts do, too.

a midnight star
It is not just the right that is putting blame here and there. Kennedy is just as serious when he blames Bush. Have we become so jaded that there must be somebody to blame instead of mother nature? Most of theee board is not trying to place blame, so please don't take my post personally. I am just sick after watching all the blame games going on in the news right now.
quicksand
Before the Christian demigods open their mouths for another foot sandwich, let's place some bets! Who caused Hurricane Katrina? The Atheists? The ACLU? The feminists? Was it the gays? (I was too busy that weekend to help out, unfortunately). I bet it was the French I've already answered that. I bet it was the French Actually, I want to say I'm sorry for causing Hurricane Katrina. It's all my fault. My de-conversion from christian fund-agelicalism combined with the fart I let after a case of beer and wisconsin bar cheese did it. My bad; won't happen again =( (Disclaimer: I jest about the cause, not the effect)

Thomas Prince of the Old South Church blamed Benjamin Franklin and his invention of the lightning rod.
Guest vanesa
Actually, I think that fat Xtian lady that works at the Budget AssRam Motel cut the cheese on her break and caused the hurricane.
shy1680
I heard it's the bingo/casino loving Catholic church goers fault lol.
Ouroboros
I think it is because of all the pedophile priests in the Catholic Church.
Checkmate
It's gotta be the gays! Southern Decadence was planned for this weekend with over 150,000 gays expected to flood the streets with myrth, merriment and naked men. So gawd decided it would be better to flood destroy and kill before the fags could enjoy 4 days of sinful ecstasy. PR Repent America Since I didn't see any link provided, I thought I'd attach it here. I don't know what makes me sadder: That people think like this, or that I used to be one of these assholes who thought like this! <<<<<hangs head in shame, and slinks away>>>>>
dead_hobbit
Who's to blame? Well, let's see here. You have a city below sea-level, only kept dry by levees (that were not designed to handle a hurricane of this intensity), next to large bodies of water, in an area extremely prone to hurricanes, etc. Hrm... yes... the perfect spot for a city. A natural disaster like Katrina could NEVER happen!
nirrti
You're all wrong! I know exactly who caused the hurricane. O.J. did it!
