Goodbye Jesus

How Long Before I Get Banned?

So, as I said in another thread, I'm posing as a Christian on a Christian website. My latest thread (quoted below) might be a bit questionable. If there are smart Christian out there, they might catch on and see right through my BS. If anyone wants to follow the thread, I'll give a link in a PM (don't want to do so publically in case a Christian from here goes and spoils all the fun). Anyway, here's a copy of what I wrote...

Looking back on my atheist years, I can see clearly what I couldn't then. I was blinded and I didn't even know it! I was living a life of nothing but sin. I see it in my atheist "friends" now. I say "friends" because they really aren't much of friends. They want me to do stuff that they think is fun, like going to bars to get totally sloshed and then driving around looking for women (even though we're all married). Sometimes they even pick up prostitutes. I did all these things as an atheist. And when I was alone, I'd look at internet porn, thinking it was alright. But now I have cut myself off from such sinful desires. Oh, it's not easy. The enemy tempts us in cunning ways. But all I have to do is pray to our Heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, with the Power and Conviction of the Holy Spirit, and satan will flee from me! The Power of the Blood is so strong! Just draw near to Jesus!

As I said, my atheist friends aren't much of friends. Now I can see (in them) the life I used to live. A life with absolutely no morals, no respect for anyone else, and worst of all, a life without God. I used to believe in stupid things, like evolution. I feel so silly now...after all, it's still just a theory! It's not even real science! How could I have been so blinded and not even know it? But that's how cunning the enemy is, I guess. He fools us without us even knowing. Honestly, I feel sorry for all my atheist friends. Because they're blinded and don't even know it. And they're going to hell because of it. I feel sad for them. I wish they could feel the Holy Spirit as I do. And this is ultimately why we believe. Because we know the Holy Spirit is real in us! When I begin to get that tingle, and I start to dance, and then start jumping all over the place...well, I just feel my whole body being taken over by the Power of God! My atheist friends of course, can't understand this, and think I'm crazy. But that's what us Christians look like to atheists. Crazy! And maybe we are....we're crazy for God!

The more and more I think of it, atheists are not nice people. They make fun of us, they tell us mean things, like we're abusing our children because we're teaching them about God (that's true, I've been told I'm an abusive father because I want to teach my children to worship Jesus Christ! I'm NOT being abusive. I love my children and I don't want them going to hell. And I tell them that, too. They KNOW I love them!). It's atheists who actually don't love their children! They're willing to gamble with their children's lives. We're not gambling anything, we're saved. Think about it....if atheists were right (but they're not), what would we be out? Nothing! But if we're right (and we SO are)....well atheists are out an eternity!!! Well, I suppose we could be out an eternity, too, if Muslims were right....but how could they be right? They're too busy terrorizing the rest of the world! That's NOT an example of a loving God! God would NEVER ask anyone to kill people. No, muslims are NOT going to heaven, no matter what they believe! Besides, the Bible clearly says that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God. So either way, we WIN!!!

Praise Jesus Christ! Through Him, we are Saved!!! And that's why we believe....AMEN!!!

Im on a christian forum too, and to be honest I am amazed how quick the ban hammer gets slammed on people in there. Even on christians!! I find it a bit ridiculous. Its almost like you have to completely toe the line and there is no diversity of opinions. Even the christians have to be careful not to post too much liberal stuff. Its weird.

Yes, even as a born-again Christian, I was banned from certain websites and it was frustrating. Especially at a time when I felt I needed answers.

There are little jabs at Christianity and the Bible in there that are pure sarcasm. Plus I want to see how many Christians agree with some of the comments I've made concerning atheists. In another Christian chat room, I've already had some Christians say that atheists are not friends. I wish I got a screenshot of the chat window.

And the sick thing is is that most Christians will completely agree with your post. But why play the part?

Why do you even bother? Personally I don't find the idea of faking it very appealing. I used to not mind, but I've been doing it with my family for over two years now and its starting to get old. I just can't imagine why anyone would want to do that.

Why should you be surprised? Wasn't that long ago Christians would torture and kill anyone that disagreed with their evil or believed in a slightly different brand of evil.

And so do you ever challenge them on their religious dogma, quoting such scriptures at them as "Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (freedom)"? I sure as hell doesn't sound to me like there's any freedom going on in there. In fact, surprise... that's actually going on in here, not there.

What does that tell you?

Antler if I took your advice I am sure I would get the ban hammer just as fast! I have to be honest though, I often think of getting angry and writing a post in there about some of the ridiculous stuff I read, but I don't have the energy. I never realised how much the fundies in the good ol Bible belt are so weird, and judgemental. I better not say too much now, lol..cause ya know I am a christian. :HaHa:

Unless you post ad hominem text I don't see how they could justify a ban. You are only posting common sense, after all, not attacking people, just getting them to look at their belief in a logical way. If Christianity can't take a little questioning then it says it all, for me!

Why do they have a forum at all then? Forums are by there very nature places for participants to hold discussions. If you are not allowed to offer any challenges or points of view, then that's not really any discussion at all. It sounds like nothing more that a self-congratulatory club, where only approved members by the board may enter. They should just call it a club, rather than any sort of discussion forum.

So ask yourself this question, how can you possibly expand your depth in a place that places boundaries around you? That's conformity to the group, not spiritual growth.

That was priceless! I almost puked until I saw the circle from God to the Bible and the Bible to God. That was an unmistakeable summary of circular reasoning, and while Christians never explicitly use that diagram or express the circular reasoning in such concise terms, it is indeed what they say in many more words.

Brilliant! I wonder how many Christians have forwarded this video to their friends to encourage them in the faith!

ROTFLMAO!

I couldn't do that. I value integrity too much to lie like that. It may be fun to see, but wouldn't it be hypocritical of me to not appreciate it when christians fake things and yet turn around and fake something myself?

God would NEVER ask anyone to kill people.

This is the only thing from your post that stood out to me as something that a christian may pick up on, although they may just think you're ignorant of the commanded killings in the bible. Of course, they could also think that you're referring to the christian era rather than the OT era. Anyway, other than this quote, I didn't notice anything in there that would jump out at a christian and indicate that you're pretending.

Again, I couldn't do it, though....

I was banned from a christian forum as a christian because I asked a question to a fundamentalist who believed the whole bible literally, and that every law must be obeyed. So I asked if he was for sacrificing priests who go astray and worship an idol, and sacrifice them on an altar. Or if he was for slavery. I got banned.

It's not completely weird, as most of them are fascists. believe it or not, alot of those forums are run by fundamentalists.

I was on this chat site for years that seemed to be a lot better about that than the norm. www.dorkchat.com Several ex-christians, some of them polite and some of them with a major chip on their shoulder, participated and made friends and stuff.

I sometimes wonder if they're still going, and sometimes get the crazy notion to drop in.

Its run by fundamentalists. I think they get fearful of people thinking different things to them. I find the site a little oppressive to be honest. I dont contribute much to it at all. I am truly amazed though at some of the thinking represented in it, and thats saying a lot, cause ya all know how I think! I like to go in there and read it from time to time, see what's on offer. I am sure if I wrote in what I really thought of some of the posts I would get the ban hammer. Its not a place of fresh thinking. Having said that, there are some lovely people in there too.

Have you ever contemplated about why there are so many different views, ideas, and opinions amongst the Christians? Why do the fundamentalists exist, and where do they come from? What is God's purpose to keep them around and not correct them? Or, perhaps, they're the ones who are right? How do you know?

This. If I found out that a Christian was posting on this website pretending to be an atheist and reporting back to his Christian friends to mock us, I'd have a very low opinion of that person.

I also would not want to be known as a member of a website where other people go troll the boards of groups with different beliefs from them.

Maybe he is actually a Christian. Maybe he's a double agent siding with the Christians, trying to make himself look like an ex-Christian here on these forums. It's not beyond possibility. But I also agree that trolling on other boards is low and since I actually have Christian family, I couldn't do that. Just because you don't agree with a particular belief doesn't give you the right to mock them in their own space.

Trust me, I'm not a Christian! That's insulting! But if it bothers people this much to read about the fun I'm having on a Christian forum, then don't read about it! Simple as that! I don't go around judging anyone for anything, I don't see why I should get such treatment...what, is this a Christian forum now? LOL!!!! (I'm just running on little sleep....take no offense to what I say)
