It will not be easy, I am going to have to speak to an academic counselor and work out a path and a plan of how someone in my situation can get there. I would love to go to one of the top Universities and study the Bible and the one thing I love the most: GOD It really would not get any better than that, for me anyway. I want to understand more, learn, and spread the gospel....especially to those religious folks out there who know everything, but do not know Jesus Christ Himself. It is my heart's desire to be there in a few years time. I need to take the GREs and everything else that comes along with the application process. I am getting a Masters in Divinity right now, but it is not from a very prestigious school. After my horrible costly educational experience I wondered why private christian colleges never objected to student loan debt when proverbs cleary states that a debter is enslaved to the lender along with the other relavent verses. I now know, Their growth agenda is more important than the principles they hypocritically stand behind. Thank god that debt is 12yrs dead. That educaton is like a tattoo you wish you never received. At one time most of us on this site were where you are in your christian walk. To say the least, we have an understanding of god. That would be all of the Christians. Nobody knows Jesus Christ. You can't know something when you have no objective evidence it exists. Knowledge is not possible without objective evidence. Which means anybody who claims to know is lying; probably to themselves most of all. What does it say about a religion to be based on so much misinformation and false claims? I am not from a very religious family, only believer actually....so all that theology never set well with me. But now as my walk with Christ is getting deeper, I see a need for more. I want to better understand what I believe in. I understand that this comes with a possible price tag, I could very well lose my faith along the way. So far, it has strengthened it, because God is opening up doors that were previously closed to me. So we shall see. I want my faith to be tested and proven true. It is time. I have to study really hard though. I am already 30 years old, so no time for loans. It would be foolish to take them out. I actually do not have any school debt, and very little personal debt (under 10K). I would like to get a full-ride scholarship if I can. That is the only way I would go (that or a stipend). I do not have time to be wasting money, and then paying it off for the next 25 years, especially not if I want to have a family anytime soon. Actually being on this site for about a year or so, give or take, I have learned a lot and it has only strengthened my faith. I have been challenged, and it has made me look at things differently. Speaking as the spouse of an Oxford alum, you will first have to brush up on the proper use of the English language before you get that big "full ride scholarship" which Oxford DOES NOT OFFER TO ANYONE, by the way. However there is a better chance of the christian god existence(which is near zero as far as I can see) then me getting into oxford. So if not impossible its near impossible.
