Canadian Government Collapses

Well I for one find it both enlightening and intriguing to watch Canadians (as opposed to Americans) battling it out over their government.

Anyways, was watching Cobert Report and Daily Show, last night, they jumped sooo on the Collapse of Martin's government. Anyways, the Liberals are predicted to get a majority this time, from what I read on some Blogs.

Hopefully if what you say about Martin is being correct, I'll just give him the benifit of the doubt, but they're skating on thin ice.

But you're right about NDP with the Labor unions. They seem fixated on Labour Unions, and the Bankrupcy protection act (or whatever it's called with company pensions protected for the workers). That was my only turn off with them.

I guess I feel for the magical powers of Layton. But you have to admit, they are useful on a smaller scale? They should play a Devil's Advocate role in the House, where they make propositions. Maybe down the road they might have a better grasp of the micromanagement. But you have to admit Layton, does seem to be a positive person.

Only one thing that troubles me. Hugo Chavez, in Venezualia seems to be very very popluar because he personally initiates stuff down there, they're on the verge of eliminating homelessness!, Castro although a murderous thug, and Chavez seem to be working on medicare, even people in America study medicen down there. So there are SOME if not all, benifits to socialism.

But if it's all the same I do want the Loonie to burst through the Washington. sooooo close man! soooo cloooose! If martin wins I hope he tackles the debt man. like South American countries have paid their debts back ahead of time!

Ya the right-wingers tried to get rid off Chavez in Venezuela and failed thankfully. Chavez is also shutting down missionary churches and expelling them from the country which is commendable.

I really don't think we'll get a majority of any sort. At best we'll probably get the almost exact same minoritary government we had a week ago. I don't see Harper leading Canada, really not. He strikes me as unexperienced...

Yeah, check out Quebec! Ok, we got the heaviest taxes in north america but we're trying to help everyone. The system is not perfect, but we're working on it.

500 billions is going to be a heck to pay back, at least it's stopped growing (thanks to the liberals). Just for that it might be worth to let them stay a bit longer. Aside from that scandal involving some of the liberals, they're doing not too bad a job for a government in a minoritary position. Let the bloodthirsty bloc quebecois wail, they'll never run canada anyways with a party centered on only one province, and the conservative whine, I think we should give Martin's group a chance at winning back our trust in some matters. Anyways, that's just my 2 cents.

What, is it so bad we don't actually want to be assimilated by the english-speaking provinces? I thought Canada's richness came from its multiculturalism so what's so bad about having one province dedicated to a particularly proeminent culture such as us, the frenchies? All cities have a latin quarter, chinese, italian, etc... We're just the French Quarter of Canada. And just like there's no friggin french in the West because almost nobody speaks it, here it is because we are french-speaking, we make up most of the province's population and we've been here for about 400 years so we won't let our culture be totally crushed by the rampant Americanism just a few miles south.

I don't like the BQ either, they freak me out.. especially the leader. He has blue-steel colored eyes that make him look like he's going to kill someone everytime he opens his mouth. Plus they are too centered on Quebec, there's more to Canada then us.

If Martins want to stop the brain-drain he's going to have to help out technological enterprises. The market is saturated (especially in computer sciences) with layed-off personnel from companies such as Nortel. If they can't get a job here, their best choice besides recycling themselves into something else is to move south and try again.
