Anushka Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Years ago, a friend of mine who is/was an agnostic told me he doesn't believe that there is a God that watches him all the time as it sounds creepy. At that time, I was a strong Christian. Recently, I saw a (funny) video in YouTube posted by an ex-christian showing the idea of God watching your every move. Indeed, it is creepy. The likes of Joyce Meyer teaches how having even one selfish thought is wrong - but rejoice God knows your nature and chooses to forgive you. This belief that God instantly becomes aware of every single thought I have messed up my head so much while I was a strong Christian. This belief literally ruins your peace and makes you say and do weird things. I saw in an episode of Young Sheldon recently Sheldon saying to his Christian friend- 'Your religion just makes me feel worse about myself.' One of the asshat pastors at my old fundy place (notice I did not say "Mrs. MOHO's church) used to regularly preach that new xtians are frequently on fire for jebus until they really understand what xanity is all about. They have a tendency to fall away soon afterwards. What he meant was they find out that their new faith requires work and giving up your old life. The thought of him always watching me messed me up too, and not even just in those issues. If I passed a homeless person asking for a handout and did not stop, I would instantly feel guilty, thinking that God watched me just pass by someone in need and not help. Tell me again how great I am bitch! YEAH!" I think the dream came after seeing a picture of a church service that showed the mindless words of a modern praise chorus on the screen.
