Super Moderator buffettphan Posted November 25, 2008 Super Moderator Share Posted November 25, 2008 According to Belief-O-Matic, my beliefs match up 100% to Secular Humanist. I'd say that sums up my (lack of) spiritual beliefs pretty accurately.

I'd say that sums up my (lack of) spiritual beliefs pretty accurately. Awesome, Im interested in seeing the outcomes for a lot of the people here. I was giventhat test when I was taking World Religions, I think I ended up being a freaking Jainist, and I was an Orthodox Catechumen...I have to read the info on WHY exactly it said that, I didnt read it back then I kinda didnt want to know why I was told I was more lik a dood running around wearing a net over my head so I wouldnt swallow and murder a bug..... Tabula Rasa
Here are my results, they've changed quite a bit since the I last took this test in the early days after my de-conversion. PiracyOfTheHead
1.secular humanism (100%)2.unitarian universalism (93%) 6.non theist (68%- WTF????) The rest seems to me like alot of hooey, even though I may agree with some beliefs. It's not necessarily hooey... Did you read "How its scored" at the end?? It just means that certain answers were also the answers of others.....like if there were only 3 questions, is there a God? Is god X or Y??, Does he eat PB& J sandwiches When you answer it would show you as believing in God, believing he is X and believing he eats PB&J. If God Y eats it too, it would show up as a percentage of belief in God Y's religion even if you dont believe in God Y, based on how the answers are generated. It explains that in there, without the explanation you would think that its trying to say you believe in some core doctrine of some religion or whatever when you dont. But there are common threads that you answered the same to and thats why there are those other percentages... I would imagine you need to look at the first 1,2 or maybe 3 and find out why your answers match so well.....youre obviously answering the way these other believers would. That and of course its not a perfect gauge. Look to the explanation, then look at your top few, then look into why...after that blame it on the machine. BlueGiant
Tossing in my (apparently normalized) results: 1. Neo-Pagan (100%) 2. Unitarian Universalism (97%) 3. New Age (93%) 4. Secular Humanism (91%) 5. Liberal Quakers (89%) 6. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (84%) 7. Nontheist (78%) 8. Reform Judaism (69%) 9. Theravada Buddhism (63%) 10. Taoism (63%) 11. Orthodox Judaism (35%) 19. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (29%) 20. Islam (27%) 21. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (22%) 22. Jainism (19%) 23. Eastern Orthodox (15%) 24. Hinduism (15%) 25. Roman Catholic (15%) 26. Seventh Day Adventist (10%) 27. Jehovah's Witness (0%) I guess looking at Chaos magic as a philosophical system (or at least practice) would fall under Neo-paganism, as well as being a part-time polytheist/atheist. Too bad they didn't have a selection for religious practice that involved the words "Get In The Box!"
