I haven't commented on the OP because it seems so obvious (goes without saying) that Bible God is indeed the author of confusion. Islam derived Allah from this same imaginary deity and the 9/11 terrorists apparently believed that their god had directed them to fly into those buildings. No doubt, Christian terrorists who murder abortion doctors also believe they have been directed by their god to do a "good" thing. Mister Pappy's momma has it right: "God never tells people to do bad things." Of course, that's only because there's no such thing. The problem is, people who believe and who have disordered minds interpret their bad compulsions as "good."The worst problem is that a whole lot of ordinary, everyday Christians who don't appear to have mental problems also characterize bad things (like sexism, homophobia, some forms of child abuse, etc.) as good and god-directed. As long as "faith" is viewed as a virtue in this society — which will likely continue long after we're all dead — I don't know what we can do about it. See, I've got roots in Texas, too, and from what I recall, most guys don't go mouthing off about people's wives like you did without coming face-to-fist with some rather unpleasant attitude in return. Tell you what... you just keep your deluded jebus-babble focused on the nonsensical magic bullshit that you people usually spew, and leave the nasty comments about people you don't know to yourself. Secondly, I don't think your kneejerk reaction supports anything other than an apparent sensitivity that most everyone here enjoys.
