Victory2011 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Hi Guys, Have not been on here for a while. I wanted to share a song that my church played last week during worship. I felt the Holy Spirit move so intensely during this song. I know it is not just the song, but it is an amazing song. It always brings me closer to God each time I hear it. It is almost 13 minutes long, so brace yourself. It starts off slow, but it speeds up, I promise. I just thought maybe some of you would benefit from listening to it. It really takes you to new places. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose

blackpudd1n Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Song for a song? Oooh, I like this game!!! Here, I'll add another: 3
Adam5 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Here's a nursey rhyme. Ba ba black sheep have you any wool, yes sir, yes sir three bags full.
expat674 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Victory2011, logic demands me to ask why you.. Why on Earth do you think anyone on an ex-christian and atheist website would care about your tuneless song with its wailing lyrics? I could not care less if the holy ghost moved you, if you think god spoke to you or even if you wet yourself...really.... yawn! 3
Victory2011 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 From what I can see, some people here are still Christians..or maybe they are on the fence. The song moved me, so maybe it will move someone else too. You never know. I felt compelled to share it. I think I am allowed to post in the Lion's Den like this. Never underestimate the power of music.

Music had nothing to do with my deconversion. 1
Adam5 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 From what I can see, some people here are still Christians..or maybe they are on the fence. Yes, some people here are deconverting Christians. You should be asking yourself WHY they are deconverting, and read their posts. Its because Christianity is nonsense! 1
expat674 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I was not saying that you are not allowed to post, I am just curious as to why you posted here?
LivingLife Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Oh the song gave me a bowel movement, does that count? 3
bornagainathiest Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Oh the song gave me a bowel movement, does that count? Indeed it does, LL! Here, read this... King James Version (KJV) Philemon 1 1Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, 2And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: 3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, 5Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; 6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. 7For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. 8Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient, 9Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. 10I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: 11Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me: 12Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels: 13Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel: 14But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. 15For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever; 16Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? 17If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself. 18If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account; 19I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides. 20Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord. 21Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say. 22But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you. 23There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus; 24Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers. 25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. Refreshingly yours, BAA. 3
bornagainathiest Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Oh phuck, my bag of reps iz used up again BAA. Put more spice in your bobotie, my friend. That'll get things moving! BAA.

FeelHappy Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Its a crazy christian thought to think there are power in songs and crap like that. My parents think if I go to church enough I'll be back in the fold...its going to take more than some crappy song for me. Especially when you realize how worthless feelings are on these things. Think about it, I get the same feelings from powerful singing even if the said individual isn't a christian. Being emotionally connected to some song or beautiful painting doesn't prove that a god exists and it especially doesn't prove that the christian god exists. 7
stryper Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Its a crazy christian thought to think there are power in songs and crap like that. I must disagree with you here. Music in general can be used to express things that words can not describe. There is sometimes more power in a song then in a speech. This is why revivalist and such will use alot of music as crappy as it maybe. Because the cadence and chords can speak to you on a different level than words.

Yeah I have to agree with what you say: I meant more for the people here, its a crazy thought to think that there is actual power in a song and someone who has left christianity for intellectual reasons will be instantly reconverted after some song which toys with someone emotions and doesn't prove anything.

raoul Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Or maybe you'll like this one better: thanks for making me throw up! I'd had a bit too much to eat for lunch and was looking for a way to get rid of the excess food. Just hearing 3 seconds of that asshole did it! Thank YOU!! ROFL

bdp Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Never underestimate the power of music. Exactly - MUSIC. Not some fictional deity and it's ghost.
