antix Posted October 16, 2012 Share Posted October 16, 2012 The main greek orthodox church in pittsburgh had a priest making 150k (base) plus bennies, not to mention the tips for the once a yr bleesing of homes (20 bucks a pop), weddings, funerals and baptisms (100 bucks a pop) and any appearance to someones home for any reason. He is retired with a salary of 80k plus full medical. Oh, I forgot, in some larger GO churches, he also lives in a nice home rent free and in the loaded GO churches, the wealthy parishoners donate for a nice car every few yrs.
