Science… *sigh*… is based on being able to support your hypotheses. Hypotheses change all the time as new info comes out and new ideas are supported by facts and repeatable experimentation. If their ideas are rejected by the main scientific community it's because they aren't supportable with evidence… like that one biologist who proposed the aquatic ape theory to explain why humans are hairless.. her ideas were considered interesting but I believe ultimately rejected because of a lack of supporting evidence. Had nothing to do with her personal faith or lack of it... it's the WORK - it has to speak for itself. New ideas are good.. without them we would never have gotten off the ground scientifically… but it still can't be just some idea that has no actual merit, or shoddy conclusions.

 

If your scientists used the scientific method and were scrupulous enough, their work… their conclusions, would be accepted like any other ones.

 

Science is constantly updating it's conclusions, because scientists challenge current ideas and come with better ones all the time.. it is then added to the consensus.

 

So.. bring on these hypotheses that are 'different' and let's see their merit.
