Into Buddhism

I'm really getting into Buddhism now. It fits my outlook on life and truth closely. I bought the book "What the Buddha taught" by Walpola Rahula. It had very good reviews from most all Buddhists, except from like one fundamentalist Buddhist troll on the internet. I read the excerpt on amazon and I was blown away by it. It's very easy to read for a book on religion.   I do not know what school of Buddhism I might follow. I do like Zen, but within Zen there is also Soto and Rinzai views. It's

Get medieval on your ass

I found an awesome medieval role playing game. I was browsing Underdogs (a massive abandonware site) for any juicy games and I found Mount&Blade. It's actually a shareware game, you can advance your character up to level 6, then start over or buy a license for it. It's damn cheap (like 12$) so I bought it. The game is beta now, but is quite stable. There seems to be some graphics and features in the game that is missing though (like more furniture in the castles). The license is good for all

Argh! Pirates!

It's so silly. I played the Pirates game last night, despite not being in the mood, and it was damn good. Very addicting though. You sail all around the Carribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico blasting any ship ya want. There is little mini games that blend into the game to. For example, you can seak through enemy towns, or dance with the governer's daughter. Most of the time is spent hunting ships though. Capture them and sell them, or just sink them. There's tons of ports to trade in.   They

Not in a pirate mood.

Damn I just got Sid Meier's newest Pirates! game but now I'm not in a pirate mood. I watched the Pirates of The Caribbean movie and got all excited. It's damn fine cliched pirate movie. It's just like Cutthroat Island but with cursed pirates that turn into rotting skeletons when the moonlight hits them, and Johnny Depp. It's funny how I get inspired by most anything. Maybe that's why I would be drawn into Christianity so much, because of all the crazy inspiring it does.   Anyway I really

Nevermind.

I think I might ditch the asatru and follow some sort of buddhism or deism. Something simple. Maybe nothing at all. I have no time to play the religious games, with all their rituals and doctrines and everything else that gives me a headache. I need something I can relax with. Something I can be comfortable being with my family and others.   Paganism and heathenism, would require more solitude for me, something I have very little of. Plus it's just plain silly the more I read of it. I can se

Back to Asatru?

I'm really liking Asatru again. I like the values it holds, and I find drawn to it for some other reasons too. Maybe that its a sort of warrior religion. Maybe that its northern religion and I'm used to the cold. Maybe because I hate to shave.   I do find is confusing, and fustrating, trying to sort out through the good and bad factions, people and elements within it. Like Christianity, it has it's own nutcases, fundamentalists and viking fluffbunnies. Maybe it could be said that its nutty

Battlefield 2 & Other stuff in life

Anyone play Battlefield 2? It's a fun online shooter game set in the modern day battlefield. I've been playing like crazy. So much that I've been having flashbacks.   In the game you play as either USA, China or the Middle Eastern Coalition. It's pretty damn fun. You can fly fighter jets, and helicopters, and also drive tanks, jeeps and APCs. One can be a sniper, anti-tank, assault, special forces, medic, engineer or heavy weapons soldier. I tend to use any of the above depending on my mood

Google's Satellite Images of Area 51

I was trying to find the infamous Area 51 on Google's new map site. Google has this fun thing were you can view satelite images anywhere in the world. You can scroll around real fast with it too. They have a version that is available to download too but it's a subscription service. Why pay for something that's free?   You can see satellite pictures of your hometown or even house if you're lucky. Here's Westhampton, my hometown. I'd give ya the link to my house but I sort of want my privacy. C

Money, Games, and God.

I wish I never got that money. No wait, nevermind. We got money back from our taxes, a whole lotta money like around $3000. That's alot for us. Most people have to pay the gooberment that much, aren't you jealous?! Of course me and Jenn (she's my wife) have been spending it all way too much. We were supposed to save the money to move out of this expensive state (NY) and into some cheaper one somewhere (PA?). We probably have 2k left now.   Oh well. So I bought tons of computer games. I got

A Blog! Yay!

Wow I almost gave up on this site. Hey it got boring! It gets redundant sometimes. Same old blah blah, theists are taking over the world!, grumble, grumble stuff. Well now we have blogs so salvation has come! Now it's sorted and catagorized grumbles that get deeply personal and individualistic!   So now I'll never leave this damn forum, ya dang grumblers! Now I can post things that people will probably never read. Oh doesnt that sentence just cry out "Read me!"?   Anyway I'm greatly tha
