Back when I used to work for marketing departments, they would occasionally force us (the graphic designers) to do layout templates in Microsoft Word "so that other people in the company can edit them." First, Microsoft Word sucks ass as a layout program for exactly the reason shown in this image. Second, the non-designers that would supposedly work with the design templates in Word couldn't figure out Microsoft Word any better than the graphic designers could, so we'd wind up having to do the fucking design work for them anyway. We'd tell them over and over again, "This will be faster if we just do the layout in an actual layout application and save as a PDF," but they would insist that someone, somewhere in the company would work with the template we designed in Word.
