is it possible we do have phychic abilty i dont guess that says theirs a god tho. it just proves were all phychic to some extent.

I've been thinking about that too for some time, and considering how particles are intertwined with quantum entaglement and much more. Maybe in the end, we are the gods, and we are connected together with the universe in a big consciousness, but we haven't been able to tap into it yet. Who knows...

Yes, that is what I believe. So, science could never prove god outside of the natural because god is intertwined with the natural. Where is the best place to hide something? :HaHa:

All this psychic talk made me remember a time when I was at work years ago. There was a guy and myself throwing paper balls and rubber bands and stuff around and then we turned around to get back to work when I reached up and caught a paper ball coming over my right shoulder from behind. I never saw this ball coming or heard him throw it. I turned around and the look of shock on his face was surely a reflection of my own. I can't explain how I did it, but it happened. Nothing like that has ever happened again, so it can't be repeated and tested through me anyway. Maybe there will come a time that we will understand this 'sense' in order to make use of it??

Why would some humans have a 6th sense and not others?

And maybe, if there is a 6th sense, maybe animals have it more developed than us?

Yes...it's not that we don't have it, it's just that we don't rely on it (or believe it). We think too much!

And here's a strange thing (actually not so strange if you really think about it), now, being an apostat, I have more empathy and understanding and feeling more united with animals than before. I have more of a connection with my dogs for instance. I don't see them as low-life animals, but living being just like me. That I did not get in religion.

Same with me. In fact, the entire universe becomes more beautiful without Christianity.

look at this pic of Orion:

It just doesnt make sense that a God would create all these wonderful things around us....and then send his son to earth,of all planets, to die on a piece of wood.

I've had the same thoughts myself.

I remember back when I was stuck between Deism/Agnosticism and wherever I'm at now, viewing those types of pictures and thinking, "If there really is a God, then something out there is making the God of the Bible look like a pussy." :HaHa:

Very true. Its like us finding an ant colony that worships the all powerful ant in the tree who brings them good fortune. Ridiculous when you see the rest of the planet. Well, Christianity is ridiculous when you look at the rest of the universe. There may be other civilizations out there that would laugh at us.

They won't be laughing when we go there in our new hyperdrive spaceships and try to convert them to Christianity. ;)

:lmao: yes, they only laugh because they havent felt a true relationship with Jesus Christ.

Then we get the news that the missionaries got eaten alive, and their brains saved in jars. We mobilize our military and go to attack... will it be WWIII or WWIV, is yet to see... and who will win.

Imagine, if they come here and try to convert us!!! Even worse thought!

President George Bush the 3rd:

"We have learned through military intelligence that planet Nerfaltork-872 has the resources to create Weapons of Mass Destruction. "

Imagine, if they come here and try to convert us!!! Even worse thought!

They would rape our women, steal our land, and set up small "reservations" for humans. :HaHa:

The invaders would love to spend their money at the human casinos.

But they would do in the act of love, of course. Xlartork's kind of love. (They show respect by stealing your possession, and they show care and passion by creating the reservations.) :twitch:

- Man, have we sidetracked the issue or what? -

Then again... they may bring in their sixth sense into the strategy! :wicked: And we will wish we had developed our own as they take all our computers away!

Of course, they have a sixth sense, and they already know we are expecting Jesus to come again... so they claim they are he... descending from the clouds... :o

And I'm going to remind you guys... we should have developed that sixth sense for our own defense! :Hmm:

:HaHa:

BTW... I think that is how the Spainish conquered the Mexicans. The Mexicans, I think Aztecs, thought the new arrivals were God! They were obviously wrong, and paid a high price. :ugh:

Hmm. Consider that we're typing messages to each other over a huge distance. Maybe we'll eventually develop the ESP (not ESPN dummy!) to "sense" how the other ones feel?

That actually is my sixth sense. As long as you are in this forum...I can read your mind. It was scary at first, but I got used to it. Some of you are just sick. sick sick thoughts.... :twitch: .

:HaHa:

The thing is.... I do think some people are more 'sensitive' to this than others. Could this sensitivity extend more acutely into something else?

They say females may be more in touch with their emotions, hence... more adept at empathy. Maybe we will be the ones therefore, to evolve in this area of telepathy first? Then that will change the tide as a male dominated world! :wicked:

What, you mean you can't see dead people?

Geez, I thought everybody could do that.

I personally believe that other types of senses can, and probably do, exist. To us however, it would be difficult to imagine what these senses could be, as they'd be utterly alien to us.

Heres a little story I thought up of in my head.

Imagine if, on some distant planet, there exist and intelligent race of humanoid beings who are much like us, except they only possess 4 senses: smell, touch, hearing, and taste; they have no eyes. Obviously, the world would appear much different to these people than it does to us. Lack of sight isn't too much of a handicap, because this this alien race never evolved eyes since they a subterranean people; eyes would be generally useless.

Humans, on the other hand, rely on sight very much. 70% of our perceptive capablities involve the use of our eyes; a blind human is severly disadvantaged. Even though his other senses will heighten, that can't fully compensate for the handicap blindness brings.

Well, back to our alien friends. One day, an individual member of our fictional underground blind race (I'll call him Bob) suddenly gets an evolutionary jump and recieves eyes. (For simplicities sake, lets assume he gets fully functional, human-like eyes) Bob can percive the world on a totally new level from the rest of his species...and its incredibly frightening. He can see light; he can see color; he can perceive other creatures from a different angle. Before, his perceived his family via touch, smell, or hearing, which would form the appropriate mental images in his mind. He's used to that.

Now, Bob "looks" at his family, he gets these bizzare mental images he's never comprehended before; he sees thier shadows, thier skin color, the shape of their faces, the outline of thier form. This is utterly alien to what Bob has known all his life, and its frightening.

Other people know something is different about bob, but he just cannot make them understand. How could he? How does he explain color to them? Shadows? Light? These people have no concept of such a thing.

Bob's new life is scary and miserable at first, but he starts to get used to it. He begins to better understand how this whole "sight" thing works, and what he can do with it. He can navigate his world in ways that his other 4 senses wouldn't allow. Bob travels to that huge, emply abyss called "the surface" were strange creatures run amok. Only to bob, its not an empty abyss...its a wonderous place filled with things he couldn't imagine, like the sun, trees, lakes, etc.

Bob's people notice his abilties. Indeed, he has some sort of strange magic powers.

This simple, stupid story is my example of how utterly alien a 6th sense could be, so much that it could appear magical.

I like your story and I heard a spiritual person saying the same thing about describing colors even to sighted people. How does one describe red? It's just an agreement on what that word represents but it does nothing to actually describe what red is. Anyway, that has nothing to do with your story!

I agree that it would appear magical and even cause some people (aliens) to think that bob was lying.

Bob would probably be an outcast.

Our senses require organs to collect the information right (smell = nose, hearing = ears, etc)?

Which organ does this "sixth" sense get it's info from?

I don't deny we can sometime accomplish feats that appear "miraculous" to ourselves and others, but jumping from there to believing in an entirely new (or old) sense is a bit too much for me at this point.

IMOHO,

:thanks:

Tell you what, willybilly:

Let someone explain to you salvation and eternal life with our heavenly father for about ten minutes.

Then, smack your thumb with a hammer.

See which one seems the most real to you.
