Astreja, I can't believe people actually GO OUT in this weather. Funnily enough, though, I had nori rolls for lunch today that my roommate made. What are you putting inside?

Spent most of the day working on my website since my old one was hacked. Got a haircut. Watched V for Vendetta. Am going to sneak in an hour or two of WoW before bed. Basically did my best to avoid the Superbowl.

Oh, and it is currently 9 below in MN. -4 was the high today. And yes, that is Fahrenheit. :P

I didn't do jack shit today. Aunt Flo dropped by for her monthly visit late last night, so I spent the night haggard and in pain, struggling to sleep. I slept fitfully all day and finally gave up and got up at about 4:30, just a scant hour and a half ago. Everything hurts - joints, muscles, head, abdomen, back, boobs, you name it, it aches. (Even my hair hurts.) So I'm having one of those days where I'm taking the Smith & Kerns cure and wondering if it'd be possible to save up for a hysterectomy for my 35th birthday later this year. What I wouldn't give for some Vicodin...

It'll be okay in a couple of days, it always is. The first 2 days are the worst though. And sometimes they fall on a Sunday. So today is just a not-very-good Sunday. I'll probably spend the rest of the day popping ibuprofen like candy and trying to get comfortable and rest.

But hey. At least I didn't have to go to church! And sit on a hardass pew and listen to a hard-boiled preacher talk shit about "bein' WASHED in the BLOOOUID!!" ... yeah, mothafucka, I'LL tellya what being "washed in the blood" feels like, asshole!! Try being me and every other fucking woman on the planet for a few months, dickweed!

God. I could eat a tree right now. :twitch:

I got up early for a Sunday, and cleaned my house did laundry and watched tv.

I had a nice cup of tea, started the outline for a second in a series of paintings, watched some tv. And went out to my painting class and came home, and got rid of some junk that had been cluttering up my house.

Trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my evening now.

I went to work after being ill wth the flu for 4 days; went in early and asked to change my schedule and leave ab it early because I knew I would be feeling weak. I didn't want to work with passengers (airline industry), so I asked to be outside in the 30s to guide them to and from the airplanes. As I was driving in, I smelled a faint whiff of antifreeze, and was a bit worried. Driving home, the temp guage pegged, and I stopped at Target. Clouds of white smoke out the tailpipe-head gasket or intake manifold for a 13-yr-ld van with 180,000 miles.

Called my brother (who gave me the van after release two years ago--all things will be ok; he picked me up, my roomie will drop me off again tomorrow to get it towed, and another friend will drive me back to thehouse, and wait for estimate and time of repairs. Meanwhile, I can take three more days sick leave.

As a Xian, I would have looked for Gd's will i this-now, just a thing to strive and succeed through and keep smilin'

I slept in far, far too late today. By then lunch was done and gone by nearly 2 hours. Of course, this beats getting up at 9 and spending the next 4 to 5 hours at church.

Astreja, I can't believe people actually GO OUT in this weather. Funnily enough, though, I had nori rolls for lunch today that my roommate made. What are you putting inside?

I managed to make three (whatever one calls the rolls before they're sliced up) before running out of rice. One tuna; one avocado; one plain. The plain one, which I made last, turned out the best; I didn't pack down the rice hard enough before rolling the other two, and they both split at one end. Still tasted good, though.

My hair dryer got renamed the SushiMatic 5000 because I used it to blow-dry the rice.

Also cut up a piece of steak that my mom gave us (was supposed to be our "construction day" supper, but we took it home to cook there). I cut it into thin strips and marinated it with port, garlic and a splash of the sushi vinegar.

sounds awesome, except for the steak. ;) (i'm a vegetarian) but steak marinated in port, garlic, and sushi vinegar, were i a carnivore, would be tremendously appealing.

i *heart* port. ever tried Taylor Fladgate?

I'm a couple days late and more than a dollar short in posting here, LOL.

Spent our Sunday moving in the freezing cold. Next Sunday's post will be much better and more interesting, I am sure.

Well here we are again, another heathen sunday! :HaHa: We had a Monty Python Dinner and a Movie Night at our house last night. DAMN is something I put together and host every now and again... invite some friends over, everyone brings food to share, and we watch some movies. Last night was the biggest turn out ever (18 guests!) and it went late. So I slept in this morning, got up around noon and finished cleaning up from last night. I had a nice lunch with my roommate, her fiancé, and a friend of hers.

Now I'm listening to Sarah Slean and bummin' around the 'net. Might do some reading. I've got a hankering for some Harry Potter...

Damn SarahGrace,

Too bad you're so far away or we'd be over at your place every Sunday. :D

This morning Susie and I went out to a flea market where a guy wanted to buy an LED sign I had for sale. Sold the sign and then used the money to go grocery shopping. Came home, the girls made cookies, the little ones are watching Harry Potter and I'm creating accounts for our revamped budget in GnuCash here on the laptop at the kitchen table. The teenagers are on the computer in the front room. Oh yeah, and I finally got the washer and dryer moved into the basement.

Tonight we're going to chill out, watch whatever the hell is on TV, and relax. No church, but I did tell the kids that today was a day to relax and unwind, other than a few odds and ends of chores like washing dishes and walking the dog. They've been working hard all week getting settled into the new place.

We won't be back to the UU church. They totally pissed me off a couple of weeks ago.

That's our Sunday this week.

I played Day of Defeat: Source. I sat up an MG in spawn on a server with friendly fire enabled and killed teammates. They kept yelling over the mic in German and shit. I thought it was funny :HaHa:

Today I spent most of the day generating Sims for a story I'm working on for my writing class, so I have an idea of what the characters look like. Took longer than I thought because I went download hunting on TSR and ModTheSims2.

Also went grocery shopping and have dishes in the dishwasher.

I'm planning on playing WoW later.

Its that time again Sunday, I ate this morning I forgot what though....oh yeah some Pop Tarts :dumbo::woohoo:

The second thing I did was played some video games, then went with my dad to the grocery store because big dinner tonight. BBQ Tri Tip tonight! I also finished an assigment for school and everything feels good.

All I have to say I love Church Free Sundays this is one of the best things of deconverting. Whats more better, sleeping in, playing some video games, chilling or listening to some pastor for 1hr and 45 minutes + say how everyone in the world is going to hell. How we are all sinnas and the lawd loves us over and over and over and over each and every week.

Ramen, I'm totally with you - Sundays are so much better without Church! I LOVE sleeping in and Sunday's usually the only day I can do it.

Celt Cat, too bad you live so far away, i like having company!

I agree with you guys, Sundays are heaven for me now. It's the only time I have to get caught up on my rest, and get things together for the next week.

Lemme see now, what did I do today. Well, for starters I didn't go to church. I did sleep a lot though (another weekend where I am worn out). Saturday (yesterday) was a busy day for me. I had a 3-1/2 hour class in the morning, I needed to renew my license plates, wash my car, do my laundry, cook dinner, all on 5 hours of sleep. Hence, the Sunday sleepy day for me. I'd take that over listening to the crap at church any day.

I have done some studying for my classes. I have a couple of exams coming up and I want to do well.

This week on The Apprentice: LA the teams needed to harvest and sell honey. Aaron got fired. Tim and Heather were called out by the Trump on their new relationship (in the boardroom of all places). Next week we'll see the two smooching. They say its just in time for Valentines day. Awwwww.... Also, Syria explodes on his team (not a good thing to do on national tv). I guess NBC is ready to do whatever it takes to boost ratings.

I'm going to do a little more studying and then head off to bed.

Have a great week everyone! :D

I broke the Sabbath as well. My mom had gotten a bone in her shoulder fractured when she slipped and fell on a patch of ice in her church's parking lot last week, during a planning session for a fundraiser. *holds her tongue on the irony*

But I've been playing nursemaid to her all week. Today (it's still Sunday in EST) was more of the same. Only, unlike last Sunday, she chose to stay home rather than drag me to church for the pre-Lent eucharist. I didn't partake of the eucharist last week; I chose to remain seated.

She's got at least three more weeks before she's healed.

Happy Sunday!

So far today I've walked the dog, watched my kids do another comedy skit they made up, played on the computer, and read my electric meter.

My church-free plans for today are:

Go to work, change some feeds to accomodate a live broadcast later this morning.

Go to hardware store, buy a circuit breaker, wire, and a 220 outlet for our dryer. Install said material and commence washing clothes.

Fix TV sitting in our living room. Connectors were broken off during the move.

Relax and enjoy the rest of my church-free day, which will probably include watching more skits, TV, and playing board games.

Tomorrow I have off from work also, and the kids are home all week from school. It's gonna be a fun, church-free week...

So far I've had a lot of coffee and breakfast, and been posting in the Homophobia thread. Other than that, nothing particularly productive. But soon we'll dust off the bikes in preparation for some exercise (either today or tomorrow) and take the dog for a walk and probably put up the motion detector light on the back porch. I've got a whole list of to-do's but it's such a nice day out there!

Another day of trying to find a place to live; not always easy with a record. The TH is OK but far from work; inexpensive, but - - - far from work. Other than that, get groceries, talk with friends, play with the cats and then, on to work. I changed to this evening schedule on Sundays just o go to church, but even that fell through. I read this site as much as my tech sites, so I feel at home with my family. Peace on, y'all.
